A stationary front was located across southern portions of the Midsouth during the overnight hours of May 5th continuing into May 6, 2009. Numerous showers and thunderstorms developed along the front. Some of the thunderstorms were severe and produced damaging winds, isolated tornadoes, and flash flooding.
