Scattered thunderstorms quickly developed along lake breeze boundaries during the mid afternoon in a strong unstable environment. An isolated storm over Wayne County produced three-quarter inch hail in Newark. Another storm over Niagara County produced damaging winds that downed tree limbs and wires in Wheatfield. The heavy rain that accompanied the storms fell on already saturated ground and produced flash flooding in Jamestown, Lockport were viaducts and roads were flooded and near Clyde where
