Despite a well developed surface and aloft low pressure center weakening as it continued to move to the east out of the Southern Mississippi River Valley Region, it continued to usher in rich southerly moisture across the region. Because of the proximity to the approaching low, mainly western portions of Middle Tennessee received flooding/flash flooding. One of the hardest hit areas was near Christiana in Rutherford County, where 50 homes were damaged due to flooding.
