Flash Flood — Vernon, LA

A line of showers and thunderstorms that repeatedly moved across areas of southeast Texas and western Louisiana from the evenings hours on October 29th into the morning hours of October 30th caused considerable flash flooding across Beauregard and Vernon Parishes. Flooding from the heavy rainfall continued throughout the day on October 30th and lasted into the morning hours on October 31st.

A cut off upper low over West Texas pulled in deep moisture from the Pacific and gulf over a stalled frontal boundary that stretched from Southeast Texas across Central Louisiana. This produced large amounts of rainfall that lead to flash flooding.
