Dec 2, 2009
A fast moving area of low pressure moved across the southern Appalachians during the afternoon of December 2nd. Widespread 3 to 4 inch rainfall totals were reported with the system. As the ground was already quite moist from several recent rain events, a few areas of flash flooding developed. A small area of thunderstorms developed on the southern end of the rain area. The storms produced some isolated wind damage.
