Low pressure moving across the Ohio valley brought rain and warmer temperatures to the region. This combination led to snow melt and widespread flooding along the Cheat, Youghiogheny, and Monongalhela rivers, with the Ohio river at Pittsburgh also rising above flood stage on the 26th. Minor flooding also ocurred along Shavers Fork in Tucker County West Virginia from Porterwood to near Parsons. Water topped the flood wall near Parsons the afternoon of the 25th.
