Western New York was on the fringe of a large coastal storm that brought major flooding over New England. Rainfall amounts averaged about an inch over the Tonawanda Creek basin which caused the creek at Rapids to exceed its 12 foot flood stage and crest at 13.0 feet at 10 PM EST on the 16th. Only minor flooding was reported.
