A large storm system developed over the central Plains at the end of April. This brought several rounds of very heavy rain between April 30th and May 2nd. Rainfall amounts from 2 to 5 inches were widespread over western Kentucky. There were a few isolated areas across the southern Pennyrile region (Hopkinsville area) that reported totals between 6 and 10 inches.
