Flash Flood — Ward, ND

Thunderstorms redeveloped across portions of north central North Dakota along and ahead of a surface warm front from the late morning into the early evening hours of Saturday, May 29th. Two reports of large hail and several reports of flash flooding from heavy rainfall were received. ||Additional severe thunderstorms were expected to develop later in the evening along a surface cold front across south central and southeastern North Dakota, but much of this activity remained south of North Dakota

Very heavy rain continued over several days at the end of June. Three to five inches of rain fell from Minot through Sherwood, and from Crosby through Lignite to Stanley. The highest rain amount was seven inches from Renville County.

Runoff from very heavy rain resulted in a rapid four foot rise along the Souris River near Sherwood. A mandatory evacuation was ordered for Mouse River Park located in McKinney Township.
