Numerous showers and thunderstorms developed on the afternoon of Friday the 14th north and west of route 44 and highway 77. The storms became organized and spread across much of the coastal plains early Friday evening before exiting late Friday evening,leaving the region saturated. Another organized round of thunderstorms moved into the northern Coastal Bend early on the morning of Saturday the 15th and affected the southern Coastal Bend shortly after sunrise.
