Flash Flood — Lackawanna, PA

Jun 13, 2010

Scattered showers and thunderstorms developed across northeast Pennsylvania in the vicinity of a stalled frontal boundary. With a very moist air mass in place across the region, the storms that developed produced very heavy rainfall. Rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches occurred in a 2 hour time period over the Scranton area. This intense rainfall resulted in flash flooding.
