Low-level Moisture advection in concert with an upper level disturbance resulted in a cluster of strong to severe thunderstorms over Eastern Kansas during the late afternoon and early evening hours on the 16th. Wind gusts around 60 mph along with 3 to 4 inches of rainfall and localized flooding occurred in the Iola and Humboldt areas in Allen county.
