Heavy rains during the second week of August resulted in the Wapsipinicon River at De Witt reaching the moderate flood stage level of 11.5 feet on August 14 around 7 pm CDT. It remained steady around 11.5 feet for about 42 hours. It fell below the moderate flood stage level around 1 pm CDT August 16.
