An upper level low moving over Southern California generated scattered showers and thunderstorms. On the night of the 13th, a strong thunderstorm with very heavy rain and hail formed over the city of San Bernardino. A gage at Cal State San Bernardino recorded 0.51 inches just within the first 5 minutes of the deluge. By the time 30 minutes had passed, 1.81 inches of rain had collected in the gage and a flash flood had been triggered. Approximately 18 homes and businesses and 2 vehicles were dama
