A strong winter storm moved across northwest Indiana on December 11th and 12th, producing snowfall totals generally in the 2 to 4 inch range. As the storm moved east, very strong winds developed causing whiteout and near blizzard conditions, especially in open areas. Numerous accidents and spin outs were reported across the area. Tree limbs and power lines were blown down with winds frequently gusting between 50 mph and 60 mph with higher gusts along the Lake Michigan shore.||Coastal flooding
