A slow moving cold front with waves of low pressure that developed along it brought a precipitation event that dropped between 1.5 and 4 inches of water equivalent across Northern New Jersey from the early morning of the 6th into the early morning of the 7th. Melting snow contributed to the runoff. The heaviest rain fell during the late afternoon and evening of the 6th.
