The strong southeast onshore flow on the 16th combined with the already high astronomical tides associated with the full moon to produce minor to moderate tidal flooding along the New Jersey oceanic coast and moderate to severe flooding in Delaware Bay in Cape May and Cumberland Counties. Tidal flooding departures increased farther up both Delaware and Raritan Bays as the high tide cycle coincided closer to the strongest winds.
