An east to west oriented cold front sagged south into eastern Ohio and northern West Virginia during the early evening on the 9th. Temperatures reached the upper 80s with dew points near 70. There was very little convection over northern West Virginia at 1900E. Near sunset, with an approaching disturbance in the winds aloft, convection fired in north central West Virginia, with new cells developing to the west during the evening. Large hail and severe wind gusts occurred in a few locations.|
