Flash Flood — Wood, WV

Jun 19, 2011

Strong mid level dynamics overcame low buoyancy to reform showers in southern Ohio during the late afternoon. The showers were efficient rain producers as they moved east into West Virginia. A small area of repetitive showers occurred over southern Wood County, between Rockport and Mineral Wells. Rain amounts of 2.5 to 3 inches, in just over 2 hours, were likely over portions of the Tygart and Slate Creek basins.
