May 25, 2011
A low pressure system brought showers and thunderstorms to eastern Iowa, northeast Missouri, and northwest Illinois during the afternoon and evening of May 25. Heavy rain fell across portions of southeast Iowa and northwest Illinois, with many areas receiving more than one inch of rain. This caused some flooding to occur in areas where the heaviest rain fell. Damaging winds, large hail, and a few tornadoes were also reported with these storms.
