An area of showers and thunderstorms moved across eastern portions of Middle Tennessee during the late morning through afternoon hours on Tuesday, July 12th. Several thunderstorms moved across Putnam County during this time period, resulting in a flash flooding event occurring in and in the surrounding areas of the city of Cookeville.
