Flood — Big Horn, WY

The warmest temperatures of the summer season produced snowmelt runoff in the drainages of the western Bighorn Mountains. Creeks and streams in Big Horn and Washakie counties quickly rose in response to the increased runoff. The flooding subsided during the morning of July 1. A line of thunderstorms developed over the southern Big Horn Basin and become severe as they progressed to the northeast. Hail was reported in multiple locations. The largest hail was quarter sized and was observed in Winchester.
