A backdoor cold front moved across the forecast area from the northeast during the late afternoon. A meso-low formed inland as the leading edge of the backdoor front and west coast sea breeze merged. As this low intensified, a convergent line of convection over eastern Duval and northern St. Johns counties strengthened.
