A slow moving cold front moved across Southern New England and stalled just south of the area. This front was instrumental in bringing tropical moisture from the remnants of Tropical Storm Lee into New England. A series of shortwaves moved through the northeast during this time period bringing several periods of showers and steady rainfall to parts of Southern New England.
