Low pressure deepened to 997 mb as it moved northeast near Cape Cod on November 23rd, during a period of high astronomical tides. This system produced a prolonged period of northeast winds on the 23rd followed by a northerly flow on the 24th generating a moderate swell. This created a storm surge of close to a foot (0.80 ft). Minor flooding occurred along the wharfs on commercial Street in Portland Maine.
