Widely scattered showers and thunderstorms developed across the region under the influence of a weak shortwave. Most of the rain activity occurred along and east of the I-35 corridor. A few storms in Anderson County grew strong enough in the late afternoon hours to produce large hail. Softball sized hail was reported near Tennessee Colony.
