Thunderstorms affected the area on April 26th as a strong cold front moved through Eastern Kentucky. One round of thunderstorms caused flash flooding during the early morning hours in Rowan County while a squall line caused wind damage around Lake Cumberland. The front, along with the heating of the late afternoon helped produce numerous super cells which dropped large hail and damaging winds later in the day.
