Beryl developed as a Subtropical Storm over the Atlantic Ocean well east of the South Coastal South Carolina area. The cyclone eventually became a Tropical Storm and slowly moved to the southwest and finally made landfall along the northeast Florida coast. The system then weakened to a Tropical Depression and meandered about before slowly moving back to the northeast across coastal portions of Georgia and South Carolina.
