Scattered afternoon thunderstorms developed in an unstable and very moist air mass (precipitable water > 2.0 inches). The storms were slow moving and also produce frequent lightning and brief gusty winds. A flash flood occurred in Decatur with up to three feet of flood water stranding a woman and child in their vehicle.
