Scattered thunderstorms developed across portions of La Paz county during the late afternoon and evening hours on August 21st, and they affected communities such as Brenda and Vicksburg, as well as area highways such as highway 72 southeast of Bouse. Due to the very humid and unstable nature of the atmosphere, the thunderstorms were able to produce both locally heavy rainfall and strong, gusty and damaging microburst winds.
