A persistent upper air system anchored over the area for several days late in the month brought excessive rain with flash flooding to much of Osage, Franklin, Coffey and Anderson counties. Some parts of Douglas and Lyon counties did not escape the rain either with some flooding and flash flooding in those counties too.
