After several days of showers and thunderstorms the ground cover in Ashland County was near saturation. A particularly brief but intense thunderstorm moved into the county between 8 and 9 PM with rainfall rates over 4 inches per hour. The torrential nature of the rain overwhelmed area creeks and stream and flooded several low lying areas.
