A dryline was located across the Permian Basin and the Trans Pecos, and a cold front was in the Texas panhandle. Good lower level moisture was present to the east of the dryline, and there was plentiful upper level moisture available. The atmosphere was very unstable. Mid-level lift was present with an upper level disturbance that moved over the area.
