Tropical Storm Andrea off the South Carolina Coast along with the remains of a weak frontal boundary combined to produce a new round of showers and thunderstorms across the area. Several thunderstorms reached severe levels with downed trees reported across north and central Georgia. The heaviest rain was confined to mainly east central Georgia, in closer proximity to Andrea. A couple of these storms produced enough rainfall to result in flash flooding.
