The Illinois River remained at major flood levels in early May at LaGrange, Meredosia, Valley City, and Hardin. The river fell below flood stage on May 22 - 23, but then rose again on from May 27-28, and reached major levels by the end of May at Meredosia, Valley City and Hardin. The river remained in flood into June.
