Heavy rain moved across already saturated ground cover on the morning of the 27th. Measured rainfall from observers show rainfall rates of 4.5 per hour. A torrential shower moved over central and eastern portions of Ashtabula County bringing an estimated 2.5 to 3 inches of rainfall to the Dorset area between 10 am and noon.
