Thunderstorms began to develop during the afternoon of Wednesday, June 26th. These storms developed from the Twin Cities, northeast across east central Minnesota, and west central Wisconsin and moved slowly southeast. The storms became severe along the Mississippi River Valley from the area around Red Wing Minnesota, east to River Falls and Ellsworth, Wisconsin.
