Flash Flood — Roosevelt, NM

A slow-moving thunderstorm produced torrential rainfall over Portales. Local emergency management, law enforcement, and fire officials reported some residential flooding. Nearly 5000 sandbags were used to protect numerous homes. No homes were damaged, however, but photos of the area suggested some minor damage to landscaping. Curb-deep water did not subside in some of the hardest areas until the following day.
