Watauga County continued to be the recipient of intense rains. Rainfall in the stronger cells approached 2 to 3 inches in a fairly short duration with flash flooding reported in Boone on the afternoon of the 7th. Rainfall during this period ranged from 2 to 4 inches with some isolated higher amounts.
