A series of showers and thunderstorms withe heavy rain caused flash flooding in parts of the Lehigh Valley, Poconos and Philadelphia northwest suburbs during the morning of the 1st. While additional showers and thunderstorms occurred during the afternoon, they were not as heavy. Creeks running higher than normal led to the death of a 13-year-old boy in Philadelphia that afternoon.
