Flash Flood — Kennebec, ME

Aug 28, 2013

A warm and very humid airmass was in place across the region on the afternoon of August 28th. There was little in the way of shear and upper dynamics so storms which formed were very slow moving and produced very heavy rain in a short period of time. One particular storm which formed on the sea breeze front dumped 2 to 4 inches of rain in the Waterville area of Kennebec County resulting in flooding of many streets in town.
