Rain showers began during the warm afternoon on the 5th, ahead of an approaching cold front. In the wake of the frontal passage during that evening. the showers transformed into periods of rain. The cold rain continued into the evening hours of the 6th as a low pressure wave rippled along the front.||Rains of 2 to 3 inches over 24 to 30 hours caused small streams and creeks to overflow in the usual vulnerable spots by the evening twilight on the 6th. Minor river flooding even occurred.
