High winds pushed ice in Lake Erie over the Niagara River ice boom. The strong winds and increased ice flows resulted in an ice jam along the Niagara River between the New York Power Authority Intakes and Cayuga Island. This jam resulted in flooding along the low-lying areas of the Robert Moses Parkway and the LaSalle Expressway, both of which were closed.
