Monsoonal moisture made a strong push toward the Four Corners region on July 15th. This moisture intercepted a stalled surface trough over southeast Utah which resulted in thunderstorms producing very heavy rainfall. The runoff from these storms produced flash flooding which impacted travel on a major highway in the region.
