A cold front stalled in Arkansas on the 23rd and remained stationary for several days. Meanwhile, areas of low pressure aloft tracked across the state from time to time. As a result, thunderstorms developed and these storms brought frequent lightning, locally heavy rain, and a few instances of severe weather from the 23rd through the 27th.
