Flash Flood — Kittson, MN

An upper level disturbance stalled over northwestern Minnesota during the early mornings hours of June 24th. This resulted in persistent showers and thunderstorms across portions of extreme northwest Minnesota. Two to five inches of rain fell over a six to ten hour period, causing flooding issues across Kittson and Marshall counties.

Diking helped prevent the town of St. Vincent from being flooded, but could not save the small town of Robbin. The river was estimated to be 20 miles wide north of Drayton, ND, and 25 miles wide near St. Vincent.
