During the spring snowmelt, a large tree fell into the Yampa River and floated downstream, lodging against a pedestrian bridge on the west end of Steamboat Springs. Water dammed up behind the tree and the bridge, and poured over the river bank on the north side of the river. The KOA campground and surrounding areas were flooded. In addition to damage at the campground, the pedestrian bridge and one vehicle were damaged.
