A strong long wave trough was centered over the mid Mississippi Valley extending south to the Gulf coast with several shortwaves rotating around it. This led to occasional severe weather and flooding across the area. The worst of the flash flooding stayed south of the area across portions of the Florida panhandle, but the combination of a very wet month and additional moderate to heavy rain led to some areas of flash flooding and areal flooding across portions of Coffee, Geneva, and Houston co
