The Kickapoo River remained near or above flood stage for several days after flooding rains hit southwest Wisconsin. At Steuben, the river crested nearly 2 feet above flood stage at 13.99 feet. Several people in Soldiers Grove had to be evacuated due to the rising flood waters. Residents in Gays Mills and Steuben sandbagged for several hours to protect homes and businesses.
