A nearly stationary thunderstorm dropped very heavy rainfall to the south and southwest of Gateway, CO. This resulted in numerous rock and mud slides along Colorado Highway 141, as well as water 3 to 4 feet deep over a highway bridge. The highway was closed as up to 3 feet of mud and debris covered portions of the road. Road crews reopened the highway about 6 hours after the mud slides occurred.
